Alongside composite and tooth-coloured fillings, in some children's fillings we use glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) fillings, a newer style of temporary filling that releases fluoride over time to help prevent further tooth decay.
We want our patients to feel comfortable and relaxed. We use an anaesthetic to numb the gums and the surrounding area of the affected tooth before we begin the filling procedure.
We can stop at any time if you experience any discomfort. However, our patients often find the experience with our dentists painless.
After your filling, we will shape your tooth so that it fits your natural bite structure. You may notice a slight difference in the area in the surface of the tooth in the first few days after the filling, but you should soon grow used to it.
